Flat & Apartment Vastu

Adapting Vastu principles for modern multi-story living
Flat Vastu Challenges: Flats have fixed layouts that often cannot be modified structurally. Focus on what you CAN control — placement of furniture, colors, mirrors, plants, and energy flow within rooms. Small adjustments can make a significant difference in balancing the energy of your apartment.

Main Door Guidelines

Door FacingRatingDetails
North / East facingBestProsperity and positivity flow in naturally
West facingAcceptableGood for business people and entrepreneurs
South facingChallengingUse remedies — Swastik symbol, Toran, bright lights at entrance
Multiple doorsConditionalGood cross-ventilation, but two doors should not face each other directly

Floor Level Energy

Floor LevelElementEffect
Ground floorEarth energyStability, grounding, best for elderly
1st — 2nd floorBalancedIdeal mix of earth and air energy
3rd — 5th floorAir energyCommunication, social connections, movement
6th floor and aboveSky energyDetachment, spiritual growth, less grounding
PenthouseMixedExcellent views but disconnected from earth — use heavy decor for grounding
Kitchen in a Flat: The ideal location is the South-East corner of the flat, with the cook facing East while cooking. If the kitchen is not in the SE, place the stove in the SE corner of the kitchen itself. Using red or orange kitchen decor (curtains, mats, accessories) compensates for directional deficiency.
Bedroom Placement: Master bedroom should be in the South-West corner for authority and stability. Children's room works best in the West or North-West for growth and creativity. Guest room in the North-West encourages shorter stays. Bed position — head should point South or East for restful sleep and positive energy.
